my russian piano teacher used to know Gilels in person, she is a lady in her 80's and before she left the states for Russia we used to play the piano, drink tea and eat cake and have her tell me all these fascinating stories about what a dedicated musician he was.

escaped to Santa Barbara for a day to avoid the heat! It was a good fix for me to get out of town, lots of ice cream and new dresses, hmmmm, I love it!

*had yummy Thai food for lunch with Takako and Natalie

*bought new milk frother and a 8" cast iron skillet, so tomorrow I will have cafe au lait instead of just boring coffee and my omelet will be in the perfect size:) yay!

I wake up to the smell of fresh coffee and yummy pancake, and when I'm tired I like to go home and watch...Seinfield!

pretty standard weekend, greasy pizza and a funny movie. I know it was Easter but I had no idea what to do about it.

I invited Vivian over to my house for dinner tonight. I made a little feast with cheese, bread, wine, salad and a beef stew that was cooked for almost 6 hours. We played a little bit of piano and had so much fun chatting, too bad George slept through the whole thing, my little guy should wake up by now, it's 10pm! Have a happy Friday:)

My good friend/roommate in college was going away to London so we had a going away party at the Wilshire in Santa Monica on Saturday night. It seems like every year or so I will see off a good friend to somewhere far far away and yet I remain where I am. A few years back, we used to stay up very late and talk about music or catch a late night meal at local diners and I would drink coffee after coffee while we talked about stupid stuff. I can't wait to go visit him sometime in the summer in London, which is something we all talked about at the party. It has been too long since I went anywhere different and the thought of visiting is exciting.

I have been doing some serious house cleaning since yesterday, and that included a 5 hour deep carpet cleaning, dumping of unused household items and wash and rewash everything that had been out in the open since the air conditioning people worked here. After that I called up Takako for a bit of coffee, it turned out to be so much fun. It's amazing how much happier I can be with a little get together with friends.
